Renee Taylor (born 1929 - ) is a feminist writer and playwright from New Zealand. Her ancestry is Scots and Māori from the tribe of Ngati Kahungunu. Also known as Renee, the writer describes herself as a lesbian feminist with socialist working-class ideals.[1] She wrote her first play Setting the Table in 1981. Her plays have been published with extracts included in Intimate Acts, a collection of lesbian plays published by Brito and Lair, New York.
Taylor was born in Napier and moved to Auckland in 1979 where she completed a B.A. at Auckland University.[2]
